Who we are

klass is an exam-practice and progress platform provided to secondary schools in Nigeria. Schools are the data controllers of their students' records; klass acts as their data processor. We handle personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.

What we collect

Student identifiers (name, matric/staff ID, class), practice attempts and scores, and the account details a school admin uploads. Students log in with a matric number and a password — no student email is required. Optional parent contact details are used only to deliver a child's results.

How we use it

To run exam practice, grade attempts, show progress to the student and their teachers, and — where a school enables it — send parents a results update. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use student data to train third-party models.

Isolation & security

Each school's data is isolated at the database row level; one school cannot see another's records. Access is authenticated, traffic is encrypted in transit, and we take automated backups. Deactivated accounts cannot log in.

Data retention & your rights

A school controls its own data and may request export or deletion at any time. Withdrawn students retain their practice history for the school's records unless deletion is requested. Students, parents, or schools can ask us to access, correct, or delete personal data.
